“I had the pleasure of working with Rebecca when I was entrusted with making the arrangements for her grandmother’s funeral. It must have been an exceptionally difficult and emotional time for her, but Rebecca conducted the funeral with absolute professionalism, warmth and integrity. She delivered a meaningful service with lovely words and sentiments. It wasn’t rushed, nor too lengthy; the timing was perfect. Rebecca communicated her needs and family choices about music etc with clarity and in good time for me to deal with them. She worked within the required timeframes and easily met the deadlines for uploading photos, ordering music and approving service sheets – always very welcome when dealing with clergy and celebrants! I have subsequently discovered that this was the first funeral that she has led since qualifying – I wouldn’t have known. This is the second time we’ve had Rebecca for our festival and each time she delivered in the most special way. We were so impressed how she held the attention of the audience for so long, at a time when most of us can’t concentrate for more than a few seconds. No doubt Rebecca wields the sorcery powers of storytelling in the most fluent and entrancing of ways. She even managed to entice some of the farm animals into the circle at the perfect time during the storytelling!
Clearly participation is important to Rebecca, influencing an active audience, she also plays with the archetypes through exercises that can bring the audience closer to the underlying message is a key part of how she works. We loved the water blessing with lavender sprigs at the end, it really brought everyone into communion together.
