Storytelling Offerings

What is storytelling?

Storytelling is the ancient craft of sharing wisdom, knowledge and information through the spoken sharing of stories, such as wonder (fairy) tales, folktales and myths.

The teller works intimately with the story, to know and embody, learning of its intricate and subtle messages before offering it out to their audience, in this way it becomes a transmission. The storyteller acts as a bridge from the spirit world of story to the manifest world of the people.

Story speaks directly to our soul, in its own language.

Stories are living beings, once received they take on a life of their own as they lead the listener into their own personal interpretation and insights.

Storytelling has been practised and adored across the world since humans have gathered and communicated together; it kept people safe and connected, it inspired and evoked emotion, it brought entertainment and nourishment. This craft has be largely forgotten in modern times, but our spirit remembers and awakens when we receive the gifts of the teller.

"Rebecca has the remarkable ability to open herself to the stories that are asking to flow through her, and in doing so, she opens herself to the personal transformation required to birth those stories into the world.

This process means that the fruits of her labour are never merely regurgitated tales but rather deeply inspired and inspiring stories that are both timely and timeless.

Her willingness to work with that which yearns to come through her renders her telling an incredibly unique and needed in this world. And the cherry on top is her delightful delivery - full of gorgeously crafted language and physical presence which leaves listeners craving more!"

The Song Of Before And Beyond – 50mins

My first word was “No”. When I was a child I had wild and outrageous temper tantrums and I would tell people what I really thought and felt... Time has passed and apparently I've grown up. I used to think these expressions signalled me as “wrong” or “bad”. But I'm starting to think differently...Honouring the No is a gift of integrity and truth. Leaning into the vast array of human emotions opens portals into great understanding and deep connection. Speaking truth, especially my truth, is a process of reclamation and realignment. All of this leads me back to Love.

After much conditioning that says; “Anger is not okay. Darkness should be feared. The wild should be conquered”, I recognise that I don't have all the answers but I am slowly learning to recover what was natural to me from birth; through journeys into the inner and outer worlds, of before and beyond, I am finding my way Home.

Lilith says; “I am the voice that says No, the truth that can not be contained, the surge in your belly telling you – its time. I am the movement without doubt, the courage to overcome fear, the flame that never goes out.”

Don't you recognise me, when I call you by your true name, Wild One?

I am the underbelly, the great blossoming of your unruly becoming. Fear me not but do not underestimate me. For although I may be the soft green leaves unfurling, I am also the lightning that singes the soil.

This is a journey of reclamation. What parts of the self have been lost, forgotten, abandoned? Join me as I attempt to unravel the mystery of reclaiming the wild, ancient and sovereign self. Journeying into The Song of Before and Beyond, all that was and ever will be, that is always available, if only we dare to go looking.

"This is a kind of performance that blows your mind from the very first sentence up to the very last words. Crafted with so much skill and passion, this story takes us on the journey into ourselves, to meet the parts of ourselves that might have not been visited in a long time if ever.
Through this story we learn to embrace the power of the NO and to nurture and heal the parts of us, whose NOs haven’t been heard or respected in the past; the parts of us to who didn’t even get to say NO when they really wanted to.
As we move through the Lilith story of saying NO and reclaiming her power, Rebecca also brings us into a beautiful memory from her own life and the experience of meeting her own shadow.
Having heard this more than once, I can say that I would come to this show again and again.
As I left the room full of people after a very long and loud standing ovation, after Rebecca’s performance I felt more whole, more empowered and much stronger than when I entered."
