lilith, friday 13th and the goddess

The Divine Feminine, in her wild expression IS nature, she is Muma Earth, she is free, untamed. For countless generations, the feminine expression and energy has been forced into submission, silenced, contained and restricted. For this is a powerful force, and for certain systems it is a threat. It does not conform, tick boxes, or play the 'yes' game, just as the whipping wind does not settle because we want it to.
This creative force has many outlets and forms of expression, one of them is known through what's often called the “Dark Goddess”; she who brings rage – sacred rage – when boundaries are crossed that were placed in love, when life and that which is sacred is threatened. This force brings the energy of destruction – not hateful, not out of malice – but a cataclysmic NO, an abrupt halt, the end game - to action that IS harmful, that is out of alignment with the highest good of life. This energetic wave can be considered malevolent, as purely destructive for destructions sake, as sinister, sometimes as evil. But that misses the underlying cause, which without intervention WOULD be destructive and harmful. Sometimes we need to be shaken vigorously awake to see where we were heading.
So I think that the “Dark Goddess” is often misunderstood, or rather, has incorrect constructs attached. For this reason, I am hesitant to call her as such, for the inappropriate narratives that awakens. This being said, she is most certainly NOT to be taken lightly, must be worked with consciously and of course with great respect. We should ready ourselves for the depths she may take us to. I believe it is for this reason she is labelled as “Dark”, for it is in the darkness, the infinite chasm of potential to which she leads us, where the greatest transformations arise. It is not the darkness of evil, but fear may reside there – this is ours to overcome. Monsters may reside there – these are of our own making and are ours to heal. She will take us to those places we don't want to go because she knows (as we also know) that is exactly where our medicine lies.
She is tough love, but she IS love.
She is the liberation and innate strength found through overcoming deep and personal challenges. Through her, we find our true power, rooted in our own bones, rooted into the earth. Empowered, truthful, untamed, present, alive. It is desirable for some to mark this energy and the deities that represent it, as evil, scary, malevolent, something, at all costs, to be avoided...as sovereign people cannot be controlled to suit a system that encourages separation and greed.
So you see many stories and entities being manipulated in order to obscure or demolish the gifts they bring; such as the the witches; once free-thinking knowledgable wisdom carriers and medicine people of the land and community, turned warted, cackling baby eaters. We've seen it with the Fae folk; beings who serve the ebbs and flows of nature, who carry the lifeline and heartbeat of the earth, turned to tricksters and human snatchers. We've seen it with Lilith; bringer of the feminine call of the wild, of ecstasy, sovereignty and truth, turned demoness, baby killer, beast...
A similar prescription has taken place around the day Friday 13th, once the day of the Goddess, 13 representing the Divine Feminine - there being 13 moon cycles per year and Friday being the day of Venus. Like with much of what has been held sacred to the Goddess, such as moon blood, menstrual cycles, birthing and intuition, the day Friday 13th has been distorted into something to be avoided, something that may well be dangerous, a misleading and ill-intentioned narrative placed on top of far older and deeply connecting wisdoms. Why? To disempower, to shrink, to disconnect, to prevent people from accessing the divine feminine in themselves and the world around them. To inhibit the unification of the divine feminine and the divine masculine within, leading to sacred union; the initiation of Christ Consciousness, of Buddhahood, of enlightenment. Christ could not be controlled. Buddha would not factory farm cows. An Enlightened being will not fight in wars.
Its time to reclaim the traditions, the wisdoms, the stories that lead us back to each other, the earth, the cosmos and ourselves, with love, with truth.
We can start it now. By reclaiming Friday the 13th, choosing to look back to a time when this was holy, sacred and benefited our hearts and communities, rather than when it caused people to stay bubble wrapped inside their homes, alone and afraid.
We can choose what narratives we live by and tell.
